ASK ME ANYTHING

I decided this is going to be a monthly feature, for when I get sick of listening to myself talk. SO. I'll keep the comments open over the weekend, and you can ask me ANYTHING ANYTHING AT ALL and I promise to answer honestly.

Writing-related, not writing-related, serious, funny, hard, easy, ANYTHING AT ALL AAHHHHH GO GO GO

Thanks for asking! First, 'cause I'm new here, what's a muser?

And second, your writing has a very authentic voice, the kind I've struggled to write for years. How'd you learn to write that way?

What's your favorite onamonapea?

I dunno, it's 2 am. That's the best I got right now.

My word verification is "supmeze." That's not an onamonapea but it is awesome.

What's your favourite book?

Well, here we go...

1) Is there any way I can read "These Humans All Suck"? Because I have a bad bad bad teasercrush. To the point where I am actually willing to send you $20+ just to read it. God, I am a freak.

2) (Yeah, this is a theme because I really am this much of a freak.) How dark is These Humans? Is it...light? Serious? Dark? Funny? Twisted? Is it actual fantasy? (Does this count as one question or...six?)

3) If there was one author you could be, who would it be?

4) How are things at UMD so far?

5) What is the most overrated YA book you've ever read?

6) Apart from the agent(s) you are being repped by or have been repped by, who is your dream agent?

7) If you could be one fictional character, who would it be?

Gahhhhh. Sorry. Went a little hyper and OTT. I hope that's okay.

Why is your username on AW Shady Lane?

Hmmm. One would think I should be able to think of something interesting and writerly to ask. And yet all I can come up with is what's your favourite flavour of ice cream, crackers, and/or bubblegum? :)

Okay, what were your querying statistics when you queried Break? And if you've queried other projects, what were the statistics for them? Thanks!

WHO IS YOUR CLONE?!?!

*is self-serving*

Also, do you have a favorite line from a YA and/or a favorite line from a non-YA book and/or a favorite line from a poem and/or a favorite line from a play and/or a favorite line from a musical, etc.

1) If I said you had a beautiful body would you hold it against me?

2) What's your best advice on editing, if I hate editing?

3) Should I send my recently finished rough draft to friends to get them to help me edit or see if it's worth querying (even though I've already done this, it's for the next time)?

4) See the first question.

What a fun post! Let's see...

What is your favorite movie?

When did you first decide you wanted to be a writer?

If you could travel anywhere you wanted, where would you go?

Do you have a favorite food?

Sorry, I did four questions instead of one. Hope you don't mind!

1. What is your favorite color?

2. I'm sorry but you have to deal with the fact that Chris McCandless is my boyfriend. Even if he was alive today, he'd be like 40 something. Speaking of such, do you have a fictional character crush? If so, who is it?

1) What kind of Rush initiation is involved to become a Muser? I think I could hold my own on fairly awesome...I have a snazzy cape, if that helps. HA!

2) If you don't have a writer's group to read/critique your finished manuscript, would you recommend asking friends to read it? Any suggestions on who/where to find a good opinion or should I just pop it in the mail and let the agents have a go at it?

Hope I'm not too late with questions :D

1) What's your ultimate writing dream?

2) Dark or milk or white chocolate? With nuts or toffee or caramel rice crisps or just plain?

3) What career would you choose aside from writing?

4) If you could live anywhere where would you live? What about for traveling?

:D

I think that's it. I wish I could think of better questions :p
