Whens your next book coming out...?

Spring 2011--beyond that I don't know, you guys will get the date as soon as I do. (I only knew BREAK's date when it was posted on Amazon!) I'm hoping, like February. I'm starting revisions on it for my editor within the next three weeks, probably, and I'm REALLY excited for that.

Okay, I totally stalked your Twitter and saw you asking this question during an agent Q&A thing - "How many books until you can assume you'll keep selling?" or something along those lines. Very intriguing, did you ever get an answer? haha

ALSO - (I might as well keep going with the Twitter stalking thing) what made you want to transfer from Brown?

I just wanted to say that I just finished Break about an hour ago and I absolutely loved it. Now I can't wait for your next book!

Linda--Awww, thank you. I can't wait for the next one either!

Emilia--I did NOT get an answer. Fuck my life, right?

Re. Brown...eh, it's tough. I don't think I fit into the culture here...the people here are very hardworking, very ambitious, very...unhappy. I like to sleep and write and have fun. And my idea of fun is different from the typical college idea of fun. Soooo yeah.

I don't think UMD is going to be any better, but it means I get to live off campus and be close to home, both of which I expect will help me through this.

I <3 you. That's my contribution.

Also, can you pass me at least 15k of your NaNoWriMo so mine is less sad and lonely with its low word count? :D

Re: re: Brown:
Awh, that sucks. ): *hugs*
Actually, I was really interested in Brown /because of/ its supposed laid-back, learning-for-learning's-sake atmosphere, with the open curriculum and everything... Is that really a sham?
I also can't stand the atmosphere you described, but I figured... idk what I figured. haha

Yeah, that's what drew me to Brown too. And...eh. I haven't seen it. The people here really do love learning, I'll give them that. If you're very self-motivated, this might be a good place for you.

I was also drawn to Brown because it was supposedly really liberal...but yeah, adding "I mean, I'm not homophobic" at the end of your homophobic remarks does not make you a liberal, y'know? Sigh.

Lera--obviously, darling.

Re:Re: Brown

You and I are basically the same person, I'm convinced. Last year I transferred from a fancy private school in Boston to a state school at home. I hated it because my idea of a fun Friday night was watching TV and writing instead of illegally sneaking into bars, because I hated the kids who showed up to class wearing business suits, and because I just wanted to graduate while everyone else saw college as a parent-funded good time.

Trust me, the state school will be better. It was the best decision I ever made.
